7. Press the button 26 to confirm your
setting.
The setting will be stored, the menu will
be closed, and the parent unit will return
directly to monitoring mode.
Note: After 15 seconds without any input
from you, the menu will be closed with the
settings unchanged and the parent unit will
return directly to monitoring mode.
Attention! The VOX level is independent of
the sound volume setting of the parent unit.
A higher VOX level does not mean that
sounds will be reproduced at a louder
volume by the parent unit. A higher VOX
level simply means that more sounds will be
received by the parent unit.
8. Use the VOL + 33 and VOL - 34 buttons
on your parent unit to set the volume at
which you hear the sound transmissions
(see "6.13 Setting the volume" on
page 71).
6.9 Switching between audio
and video monitoring
This baby monitor can be used for video
monitoring. During video monitoring, images
and sounds are transmitted.
It can also be used for audio monitoring
only. In this case, only sounds will be trans-
mitted, and no video images. Audio moni-
toring without video image transmission
uses less power. Reducing the power con-
sumption allows you to use the parent unit
longer.
Attention! You will not be able to switch
from video monitoring to audio monitoring
while the sound volume of the parent unit is
switched to mute (see "6.14 Mute function"
on page 71). This prevents you from losing
all contact with your baby while using the
baby monitor. In this case, increase the
sound volume on the parent unit to deacti-
vate the mute function before changing to
audio monitoring only.
To switch from video monitoring to audio
monitoring, proceed as follows:
1. Press the button 26.
The menu bar with the main menu will
appear at the bottom of the screen.
2. Use the 24 or 27 button to
select the Settings menu.
The selected symbol will be shown in red.
3. Press the button 26 to view the sub-
menu.
VOX: setting the sound sensitivity level
Display: This menu allows you to switch
from video monitoring to audio monitor-
ing only, or select the "Auto Off" option
for the screen.
4. Use the 25 or 28 button to move the
star in front of Display.
5. Press the button 26 to view the next
submenu.
LCD Auto-Off: Here, you can choose
whether you want the screen to remain
on permanently or switch itself off after
1 minute or after 5 minutes.
If the screen is switched off in this way, it
will switch itself back on when:
– Your baby cries loud enough to exceed
your set VOX evel;
– You briefly press the on/off button 32;
– You deactivate the Auto Off function
again via the main menu
VIDEO ON: The camera is switched on
and images and sounds are transmitted.
VIDEO OFF: The camera is switched off
and only sounds are transmitted.
At this point, you can still exit the sub-
menu by pressing the button 27. The
submenu will close and you will be
returned to the previous submenu. How-
ever, to continue with your settings, con-
tinue with the next step.
Switching video monitoring off
Follow steps 1 to 5 described above.
6. To switch video monitoring off and
change to audio monitoring only, use the
25 or 28 button to move the star in
front of "VIDEO OFF".
