BROADCAST TRANSMISSION WITH GROUPED DIALLING (PROGRAM KEYS)
This section explains how to perform a broadcast transmission operation from the memory using the program
keys. This kind of transmission enables you to save time and money as you can send a document to more
than one correspondent in a single operation. Remember that the “immediate or delayed” option depends on
the setting made under the “program key” (see the “PROGRAM KEYS” section of the “PROGRAMMING”
chapter).
Note that, having set the facsimile machine for broadcast transmission from the memory with grouped dialling,
you can: copy documents; display, delete or print all the connection activities set (see the “Connection activities”
section of the “MEMORY” chapter), perform programming operations and set other transmission operations.
When you perform operations that require use of the memory, check the percentage of free memory on the
display. If the memory is almost full, clear the memory of documents no longer required, so as to create space
for new storage operations (see the “Connection activities” and “Total number of documents in the memory”
sections of the “MEMORY” chapter).
To cancel a broadcast transmission operation with grouped dialling from the memory, see the “Connection
activities” section of the “MEMORY” chapter.
o The facsimile machine is on. The document has been inserted and prepared for transmission (see the
“BEFORE TRANSMISSION/COPYING” chapter). The program keys have been programmed.
1. Press the program key required (PRG 1, PRG 2, PRG 3).
The document is stored and transmission is started. The TX/RX LED comes on.
The message “STORING” appears on the display while the document is being stored.
Once the document has been stored, the message “STORING COMPLETE” is shown on the first line
of the display for a few seconds and the message “PAG. NO.: XX DOC. R.: XXXX” is dislpayed on the
second line. The latter message provides you with reference data you may require for document deletion
or transmission cancellation operations, i.e. the number of pages and the document reference number.
If the correspondent does not answer or the line is busy, the facsimile machine continues dialling the
following numbers. At the end, it tries to redial all the numbers waiting for transmission (automatic redial
feature).
If the “LAST TX REPORT” parameter was enabled in the operating configuration, the facsimile machine
will print the report at the end of transmission.
If you hear a beep and the error LED comes on, this means that an error has occurred (e.g. an interruption
in the connection). If this is the case, let the facsimile machine finish redialling the numbers waiting for
transmission, then press LINE STATUS and STOP at the same time to switch off the error LED and
repeat the transmission procedure for the correspondents that have not received the document. To
identify these correspondents, see the “Last TX report” or print the connection activities (see the
“Connection Activities” section of the “MEMORY” chapter).
