Putting into operation
Before first use and after the appli-
ance has not been used for a long
time operate the appliance with maxi-
mum water content and without cof-
fee. Then rinse the filter and the jug
with hot water.
Preparing coffee
Fill in cold water into the water con-
tainer. The water level indication indi-
cates the number of brewed cups
with 125 ml of coffee each.
Coffee filter
Swing filter out toward the front when fill-
ing in the ground coffee.
The permanent filter insert makes it pos-
sible to brew coffee without paper filters.
The permanent filter insert must be
removed when brewing with a paper fil-
ter. Insert a paper filter, size 4 (1 x 4)
into the filter, however, fold over the per-
forated edge first. The filter bag may not
project over the edge of the filter; it must
therefore be pressed on lightly by hand.
Fill in the required quantity of ground
coffee. A level measuring spoon con-
tains approximately 6 grams. Approxi-
mately 5 to 7 grams of medium fine
ground coffee is calculated per cup,
depending on personal taste. If it is
ground too fine, it may obstruct the
drainage from the filter and result in
overflowing.
After the filter is snapped in again, acti-
vate the switch. The brewing process
begins when the indicator light is illumi-
nated. The pot can be removed after the
end of the filtration. The drip stop pre-
vents that residual coffee drips from the
filter.
The finished coffee is automatically kept
at serving temperature in the glass
carafe on the heating plate until the
appliance is switched off.
It must be noted that the coffee looses
flavor when kept warm too long.
Used filter bags and coffee powder are
biodegradable.
