Cleaning and maintenance
Disconnect the appliance from the
socket and let the coffeemaker cool
down. Never immerse the appliance
in water. Use a damp cloth with
washing-up liquid and rub dry after-
wards.
Do not use abrasive or scouring
agents.
The glass jug can be cleaned under
running water or in a dishwasher.
Descaling
Like other hot water appliances the
coffee maker has to be descaled
periodically. A considerable longer
brewing time and a higher noise level
are an indication that the appliance
needs to be descaled.
The following indications are guide-
lines which refer to a daily use in the
household.
Hardness Hardness Descaling
degree intervals

responsible waterworks or the local
administration.
Use a conventional decalcification
agent according to the instructions by
the manufacturer.
Fill the fresh water tank to the maxi-
mum number of cups with decalcifi-
cation solution. We recommend the
use of durgol
®
express. This is higly
efficient and yet gentle. Fill 2
durgol
®
express into the fresh water
tank and dilute with the same amount
of tap water.
Insert the permanent filter and place
the carafe into the machine. After
always a minute during the filtration,
switch off the appliance for a few
minutes; the decalcifying agent will
be most effective by this method.
Repeat the process each time with
fresh decalcifying agent until the dis-
turbing noise is eliminated. Never fill
hot decalcifying solution into the
appliance.
Caution! Filter a maximum fresh
water fill-up through after decalcifying.
