1. Turn over the sea t as shown in the picture.
2. Unscrew the hand knob (G1) and simultaneously lift the red security
ring (G2). Open the jaw (G3) to an aperture wider than the luggage carrier .
3. Place the seat on the luggage carrier and then fasten the hand knob
(G1) so that the seat remains sligh tly attached to the luggage carrier.
Check if the jaw (G3) is properly fastened t o the luggage carrier.
4. The child seat has a centre of gravity (F) (inscribed on the child seat) that
must be positioned in front of the rear wheel axle . If it is positioned behind
the axle, the distance must not exceed 10 cm. If the centr e of gravity is
more than this distance from the axle , adjust the seat to the correct
position. Special care must also be taken when positioning the child seat
to ensure that the cyclist does not touch the child seat with his feet when
cycling. Make sure that the mounting plate ( G) is firmly attached to the
carrier before proceeding . T his step is extremely impor tant for child and
cyclist safety. Check the saf ety of the fasteners regularly.
Note: In Germany, acc ording to the German T raffic Law StVZ O, bicycle
seats may only be fixed so that 2/3 of the seat depth or the Gra vity Center
of the seat is located between the front and r ear axle of the bic ycle.
5. F asten the hand knob (G1) so that the seat is well attached to the
luggage carrier . As soon as the hand knob is well tightened, make sure the
security lever is properly held as shown in the picture.
6. Pass the saf ety belt (C ) around the bicycle frame. A djust it as shown
in the picture, under tension. Make sure that r emain loosen belt is not in
contact with the wheel. This step is extremely important for the child’ s
safety.
7. The Guppy Junior seat must always be used with wheel protectors (D3).
They are strictly mandatory as it stops your child’ s foot from coming into
contact with the wheel and prevent accidents . Place the protective film
for the fork (E5) to cov er the location where the metal plate will be applied
(E1). Polisport provides this film for the pr otection of the fork and is not
responsible for any damage t o the forks.
8. Fit metal attachment plat e Ø[17-21]mm (E1) on the rear wheel’ s right
hand fork. Repeat the same process for the left hand side.
9. Place the zip ties (D4) in the wheel protector (D3) as shown in the
picture. Is mandatory to install the 6 zip ties on each wheel protector .
10. Start to attach the zip ties (D4) to the bicycle fork. The zip tie locat ed
on the bottom should be attached after the metal attachment plate (E1).
11. Attach the other 3 zip ties to the wheel bar by choosing the holes
that better fit to your bicycle wheel size. F ollow the picture instructions
for the guidance.
12. Cut the remaining tape and leav e at least 4mm as shown in the
picture. Make sure you hav e followed all the previous steps befor e you
go to the next instruction. T est your bicycle wheel to make sur e your
wheel turn around with no issue. Repeat this process on both sides of the
bicycle. Make sure you have both wheel pr otectors installed as described
in the instruction. You ’r e now ready to go to the next step to install the
retractable footrest.
13. Please do not proceed with this step bef ore you follow the previous
steps to install the wheel protector . This is important for you and your child
security. F it the fastening block (E2) to the metal attachment plate (E1)
After putting this component in place, ensur e that its attachment pins
fit properly into the metal attachment plat e (E1), as shown on the above
image. Repeat the same process for the left hand side . Polisport does not
accept liability for any damage caused to the fork if this part is tightened
incorrectly .
14. Fit the r etractable footrest (D2) onto the plate and block assembly
(E2+E1) installed previously to the rear wheel’ s right hand fork. Repeat the
same process for the left hand side.
15. After fitting the retractable footrest (D2), insert the M6 bolt into the
top slot and tighten the footr est (D2) onto the block installed on the rear
wheel’ s right hand fork in the previous steps. After inserting the 2 bolts,
use the no. 4 Allen key (E4), to tighten them (6N.m) t o ensure that they
do not come loose with daily use. Repeat the same process f or the left
hand side.
• This junior bicycle seat must not be mounted to bicycles fitted with rear
shock absorbers.
• This junior bicycle seat must not be mounted to Motorized Vehicles such
as Mopeds and Scooters.
• This junior bicycle seat must be assembled on a carrier with at least 38kg
/ 83.78 Lbs of capacity.
• For saf ety reasons this seat shall only be fitted to luggage carriers in
accordance with ISO 11243 - 120 to 175 mm. Also fitting wider carriers
- 185mm.
• This junior bicycle seat must be assembled on bicycles with wheels with
diameters of 26” , 27.5” , 28” and 29” .
• This junior bicycle seat is only suitable for carrying children with a
maximum weight of 35 Kg, minimum height of 1,10mts and abo ve 6 years
of age, that are able to secur e and keep their balance autonomously on
the seat during the ride.
• The total weight of the cyclist and the child transported must not exceed
the maximum permitted load permitted for the bicycle. Information on
the maximum load can be found in the operating instructions of the
bicycle. Y ou can also contact the manufacturer for this question.
• The seat may only be mounted on a bicycle suitable for the attachment
of such additional loads.
• The position of the junior bicycle seat must be adjusted so that the
bicycle rider does not touch the child bicycle seat with the feet when in
motion.
• It’s very important to adjust correctly the seat and its component parts
for optimum comfort and safety of the child. It’s also important that the
seat does not slope forward, so that the child does not tend to slide out of
it. It’s also important that the backrest slope backward slightly .
• Check if all parts of the bic ycle function correctly with the junior bicycle
seat mounted.
• Check the instructions of the bicycle, and If you have an y doubts
on fitting the junior bicycle seat to your bicycle, please contact your
bicycle supplier for further information.
