10. OTHER GENERAL USES

10.1 BRIGHTENING UP CURTAINS AND DRAPES

Vacuuming the fabric just using the handle can remove mites

and dust from curtains and drapes. The steam is able to remove

odours and brighten up colours, allowing the fabric to be

washed less frequently.

For this surface, set the steam to the minimum level.

10.2 REMOVING STAINS FROM CARPETS AND UPHOLSTERY

Connect the concentrator accessory without the bristly round brush;

direct the steam directly onto the stain with the greatest angle

possible (never vertically to the surface to be cleaned) and place a

cloth beyond the stain to collect the dirt that has been “blown” away

by the steam pressure.

For this surface, set the steam to the minimum level.

Connect the suction nozzle to the concentrator accessory and

activate the suction function to vacuum the removed dirt remained

on the ﬂoor.

10.3 TAKING CARE OF PLANTS AND HUMIDIFYING ROOMS

To take care of your house plants, remove the dust from the

leaves using just the handle, vacuuming the surface: adjust the

steam to the minimum level and vacuum at a distance of 50

cm. Plants breathe better and will be cleaner and brighter.

Furthermore, you can also use the steam to refresh spaces,

especially those frequented by smokers.

11. OUT OF WATER

When the tank is out of water, the indicator light on the control

panel (tap symbol) will turn on and you will hear a beep. To

continue with steam cleaning, simply open the tank door and

add water.

12. GENERAL MAINTENANCE

To clean the outside of the appliance, only use a damp cloth

and tap water.

All accessories can be cleaned using running water, ensuring

they are completely dry before the next use.

Do not use detergents of any type.

13. CLEANING THE DIRT COLLECTOR

(ordinary maintenance)

13.1 Ensure that the appliance is switched off and disconnected

from the mains.

13.2 Disconnect the dirt collector and remove it.

13.3 Hold the upper handle and turn clockwise.

13.4 Slowly remove the ﬁlter unit, pulling upwards and empty

the collector into an appropriate container.

13.5 Wash the collector and the ﬁlter unit using running water

only. Shake to remove excess water. This action is advisable

especially when liquids are vacuumed and/or when steam is used.

13.6 Reassemble all the parts following the procedure in reverse

order. The UNICO ﬁlter unit does not need to be dried; it is

ready for use immediately, avoiding unnecessary waiting time.

However, before replacing, we advise quickly drying the ﬁlter

and the collector with a cloth to avoid unpleasant odours

forming.

Empty the dirt collector each time the MAX level is reached

and after every use.

We recommend emptying the collector after every use, before

storing the appliance to avoid unpleasant odours forming.

14. CLEANING THE FILTERS

(extraordinary maintenance)

14.1 Ensure that the appliance is switched off and disconnected

from the mains.

14.2 Release and remove the dirt collector.

14.3 Lower the handle of the ﬁlter unit and turn the cap until

the two triangles coincide.

14.4 Lift the cap pulling upwards and remove the mesh ﬁlter.

14.5 Hold the handle of the multi-cyclonic unit and pull upwards.

14.6 Wash the mesh ﬁlter and the multi-cyclonic unit using

running water only.

14.7 Wring out the ﬁlter and reassemble all the parts, following

the procedure in reverse order, ensuring that the mesh part of

the ﬁlter is facing upwards.

14.8 Remove the HEPA ﬁlter from the body of the appliance,

disconnecting it from the appropriate lever.

14.9 Rinse the HEPA ﬁlter using running water only and shake

gently to remove any excess dirt or water residue; before

replacing the ﬁlter in the appliance, leave to dry naturally away

from direct light and heat for at least 24 hours.

The ﬁlters should be fully cleaned approximately twice per year.

Should the appliance be used frequently for vacuuming liquid

dirt, repeat the operation more frequently.

WARNING: Check the ﬁlters during cleaning. Replace the

ﬁlters when visibly damaged.

WARNING: Should foam form inside the dirt collector (usually

due to detergent being present on the surface), immediately

empty and clean fully as detailed in Chapters 13, 14 and 17.

To vacuum surfaces it is not necessary to ﬁll the tank, simply

turn the boiler off.

WARNING: Steam.

Risk of scalding!

WARNING: Before cleaning the surface, always do a test on a

hidden part and see how it reacts to the application of steam.
