9.1.2 Add gasoline (Fig. E)
WARNING: never fill fuel tank indoors, with engine running or until the
engine has been allowed to cool for at least 15 minutes after running.
WARNING: Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine stopped. Do not
smoke or allow flame or sparks in the area where the engine is refuelled or
where petrol is stored. Avoid repeated or prolonged contact with skin or
inhalation of vapour.
▪ Remove the fuel tank cap (b).
▪ Fill fuel tank to base of tank filler neck. Use fresh, clean, regular unleaded gasoline.
▪ Do not overfill.
▪ Do not mix oil with gasoline.
▪ To assure fuel freshness, only purchase fuel in quantities that can be used within 30 days.
▪ Replace the fuel tank cap (b).
CAUTION: Wipe off any spilled oil or fuel. Do not store, spill or use gasoline
near an open flame
CAUTION: Alcohol blended fuels (called gasohol or using ethanol or
methane can attract moisture which leads to separation and formation of
acids during storage). Acidic gas can damage the fuel system of an engine
while in storage. To avoid engine problems, the fuel system should be
emptied before storage (See chapter Storage, further in this manual)
9.2 Starting the engine (fig. A,E & F)
Check the brake lever whether can be operated and stopped normally before each start.
To start the engine, first make sure that the spark plug cap (d) is connected and that the
machine is filled with sufficient oil and gasoline.
NOTE: Due to protective coatings on the engine, a small amount of smoke
may be present during the initial use of the product and should be
considered normal.
▪ Push the primer bulb (c) 3-5 times.
▪ Pull the brake lever (9) to the handle. and
▪ Pull the starter handle (10) quickly. Do not allow the starter rope to snap back.
NOTE: In cooler weather it may be necessary to repeat priming steps.
WARNING! Too much presses on the primer bulb may cause a flooded
engine. When starting a warm engine, the primer bulb does not need to be
used.
