6 SAFETY WARNINGS GASOLINE
WARNING: Use extra care in handling fuels. They are flammable and the
vapours are explosive. The following points must be observed.
▪ Use only an approved container.
▪ Never remove the fuel cap or add fuel with the power source running. Allow engine
exhaust components to cool before refuelling.
▪ Do not smoke.
▪ Never refuel the machine indoors.
▪ Never store the machine or fuel containers inside, where is an open flame, such as a
water heater.
▪ If fuel is spilled, do not attempt to start the power source, but move the machine away
from the area of spillage before starting.
▪ Always replace and securely tighten the fuel cap after refuelling.
▪ If the tank is drained, this should be done outdoors.
7 ASSEMBLY
WARNING! To prevent an accidental start that could cause serious personal
injury, always disconnect the engine spark plug lead cap from the spark plug
when assembling parts.
WARNING! Never install, remove or adjust any attachments while power head
is running. Failure to stop the engine can cause serious personal injury.
▪ Rotate the mounting disc (16) slowly to align the hole in the mounting disc (16) to the hole
in the head assembly (17).
▪ Lock the moutning disc firmly using the screwdriver provided by aligning and insert
through the two holes (Fig. 1).
▪ With the mounting disc locked, screw the spool onto the gearbox in a clockwise direction
until it cannot rotate any further.
▪ Remove the screw from the safety guard (9) (Fig. 2).
▪ Insert the left tab in to the slot on the safety guard.
▪ Align the screw hole in the mounting bracket with the screw hole into the safety guard (9).
▪ Tighten the screw through the mounting bracket and into the safety guard using the
screwdriver provided.
▪ To connect the upper (18) and lower shaft (19), loosed the drive shaft locking knob (10)
(Fig. 3).
▪ Insert the lower shaft into the upper shaft and rotate slowly until the button locks into the
positioning hole (the fixing hole is opposite the knob).
NOTE: if the button does not release completely in to the positioning hole,
the shafts are not locked into place. Slightly rotate from side to side until the
button is locked into place.
▪ Turn the drive shaft locking knob (10) clockwise to tighten the coupler.
WARNING! Be certain the knob is fully tightened before operating the
machine. Check it periodically for tightness during use to avoid serious
personal injury.
