[MON] KEY (6)

[SCN] KEY (7)
Monitors channel 16 (safety channel) while receiving a selected channel.
Feature known as dual watch on some sets.
[PSC] KEY (17)
Press this key to scan channel 16 (safety channel) alternately in between
every programmed scan channel saved in the PM-1200 WP’s memory (see
[R/D] key below).
[R/D] KEY (16)
Used to save channels into the radio’s memory. Press once to save a chan-
nel and press again to delete a channel from memory.
[H/L] KEY (11)
Used to alternate transmitted power between High (4 Watt) and Low (1 Watt).
[CLR] KEY (15)
Returns to previous channel when pressed after [CH16] key is pressed.
Pressing and holding the CLR key and the UP key while turning the power
on will cause the microprocessor to reset and erase all the programmed
channels from memory.
[V/L] KEY (14)
Pressing the [V/L] key enters the VOLUME CONTROL mode.
In VOLUME CONTROL mode use the UP and DN keys to select your best
audio output (Volume) level over a scale of P0 to P7.
When pressed for 2 seconds the ‘keypad lock function’ is activated/de-acti-
vated.
MONITOR SWITCH (2)
Pressing the MONITOR SWITCH temporarily disables the SQUELCH func-
tion. This increases the receiver sensitivity allowing distant/weak signals to
be heard.
SQUELCH settings will return to normal when this control is released.
MICROPHONE / EXTERNAL SPEAKER JACK (12)
This jack is used to connect optional speaker/ microphone or headset.
The jack accepts an 8-ohm external speaker or headphone and disables the
internal speaker.
