Make sure that there are no sources of ignition, naked
ames or similar in the vicinity when replacing the gas
cylinder.
Seek advice from a specialist dealer when buying or
renting the gas bottle.
The appliance must be connected as described in these
instructions.
Make sure that the gas hose is not kinked.
After installing the gas bottle, check all connections for
leaks with a commercially available leak detection spray
or soapy water. A leak test with an open ame is strictly
prohibited!
Warnings for the Use of the Appliance
WARNING: Risk of burns!
During operation and afterwards, the surface of the
appliance is hot. Wait until the appliance has cooled
down before moving it.
Never touch the burner surfaces to avoid burns!
WARNING: Danger of re and explosion!
Do not smoke when handling the gas system. Do not
place the gas cylinder in the vicinity of a naked ame.
Make sure that the gas hob is not exposed to
draughts.
CAUTION: In chase of hotplate glass breakage:
Switch off all burners immediately;
Do not touch the appliance surface;
Do not use the appliance.
In the event of the burner ames being accidentically
extinguished, turn off the gas knob and do not attempt to
re-ignition the burner for at least 1 minute.
The gas knob must not be operated for more than
15 seconds. If the burner has not ignited after these
15 seconds, the gas knob must not be operated again
and at least 1 minute must be waited before each new
ignition attempt.
Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.
If you notice that the ame burns abnormally or you
notice a gas smell, turn the gas control knob to the
12 o’clock position (OFF) and contact authorised service
personnel.
In the event of a malfunction, immediately turn off the
valve of the gas bottle.
Do not spray aerosols near the appliance while it is in
operation.
Operating the Gas Hob
Check the hose and pressure regulator for cracks and
damage before each operation.
Do not operate the appliance if the pressure regulator,
hose or gas bottle are defective or leaking.
To protect against accidental gas leaks, the cylinder
valve on the gas cylinder should only be open when the
appliance is in operation. Close the cylinder valve imme-
diately after switching off the appliance.
Maintenance
It is very important that the gas cooker is properly
maintained. Not only for efciency reasons, but more
importantly to ensure the safety of your household.
Apart from proper cleaning, gas cookers usually do not
require much more than routine maintenance. Annual
maintenance should be carried out by professionals au-
thorised for this purpose. Only a properly qualied techni-
cian can safely repair and maintain your gas cooker!
Do not make any changes to the gas cooker or the
pressure regulator.
Replace the pressure regulator after 2 years and the
hose after 5 years at the latest, even if no external dam-
age is visible. Make sure that the pressure regulator is
approved for the gas used and set to the correct output
pressure (see technical data). A new hose must not be
longer than 1.5 m.
The gas forms an explosive mixture together with oil.
Never try to make sluggish valves and regulating knobs
smooth-running with oil or penetrating oil.
If the burner ame burns yellow, this may be a sign that
the burner needs servicing. Make sure the burner is
clean or consult a professional.
Protective Devices of the Cooking Hob:
Flame Monitoring by Thermocouple
Your gas hob has a protective device for ame monitor-
ing. The ame monitor switches off the gas supply when
the ame goes out.
Only use an original spare part from our service depart-
ment or a spare part that has been expressly approved
by our service department for the ame monitor. The use
of unsuitable protective devices can lead to accidents.
Action when Fighting Fires
Move persons who are standing around to a safe place!
If possible, close the valve of the gas cylinder. Cool the
gas cylinder with water. At the same time, ensure your
own safety! Spontaneous and explosive re-ignition is
possible.
Only extinguish leaking, burning gas if you cannot stop
gas from escaping. All extinguishers can be used.
