Thermal overload protection
To prevent overheating under an extreme long-
term load, the safety electronics switch the motor
into cooling mode when the critical temperature
is reached. The machine cannot be loaded, and
it runs at reduced RPM. After cooling, the tool is
once again prepared for operation and can be fully
loaded in about 3 5 minutes. If the tool gets hot
while running, the heat protection reacts corre-
spondingly earlier.
RPM selection
Using the RPM regulator [1-14], it is possible to
preselect the RPM continuously:
Level 1: 2200 min
–1
Level 4: 3600 min

Level 2: 2600 min

Level 5: 4100 min

Level 3: 3200 min

Level 6: 4600 min

8 Preparation for use
8.1 Mounting the chain
WARNING
When mounting the chain make sure it seats cor-
rectly. The cutting teeth must be positioned in the
direction that conforms to the chain rotation, i. e.,
the mark shown on the body of the saw.
When the ISP 330 EB is delivered, the chain is not
mounted on the guide bar. Remove the chain sprock-
et cover [2-1] by rotating the fastening wheels
[2-2] counter clockwise, as shown in Fig. [2]. Put a
new chain [2-3] on the guide bar [2-4] and insert
it into the machine. Maintain the proper position
of the cutting teeth, according to the direction of
rotation. The direction of rotation is indicated by
an arrow on the body of the machine, and under
the chain sprocket cover there is a symbol show-
ing how the chain should be mounted. Place the
guide elements of the chain onto the chain sprocket
[2-8] and turn using the chain adjustment wheel
[2-9] (when rotated clockwise as seen from above,
the pin moves upwards and releases; when ro-
tated counter clockwise as seen from above, the
pin moves downward) so that the opening on the
guide bar [2-5] snaps into the tension bolt [2-6].
Then put the chain sprocket cover [2-1] on the
clamping bolt [2-7] and tighten by rotating the
fastening wheel [2-2] clockwise. Before tightening
it rmly, tension the chain correctly, as described
in Section 11.1.
8.2 Filling the oil reservoir
When the ISP 330 EB is delivered, the lubrication
oil reservoir is empty. Before using the machine,
you must ll the tank with chain oil to prevent
damage to the oil feed pump. If the machine is
operated with an insuf ciently lled oil reservoir
or with a dysfunctional lubricating system, the oil
feed pump will be damaged, as well as the tool’s
entire cutting assembly!
The oil reservoir cap [1-9] has an opening with a
one-way suction valve for air pressure compen-
sation. If you use the machine in other than the
vertical position, the chain may not get lubricated.
The outlet of the oil reservoir is located down at
the back, and when the machine rotates, the pump
is not able to suck up the oil. The quantity of oil
in the reservoir is indicated by the level in the oil
gauge [1-8].
8.3 Electrical connection
WARNING
If the tool is used with an incorrect power supply,
there is a risk of injury.
The ISP 330 EB insulation saw can only be con-
nected to a single-phase power supply with 230V/
50–60Hz alternating current. The machine has a
class II protective covering according to EN 60 745-1
and has noise suppression according to EN 55 014.
Before operating the machine, make sure that the
voltage of the socket corresponds to the voltage
information stated on the label of the machine.
The portable cord can be extended in the following
manner, if necessary:
- Length 20 m, cross-section of wires 3 × 1.5 mm
2
- Length 50 m, cross-section of wires 3 × 2.5 mm
2
Use only appropriately marked extension cords
intended for use outdoors.
9 Operation
WARNING
Before performing any maintenance work on the
tool, always remove the plug from the electrical
mains socket.
Check that the information on the manufacturing
label complies with the actual power supply volt-
age.
Equipment marked with 230 V can also be con-
nected to 220 V / 240 V.
Check that the plug type is the same as the socket
type.
9.1 Switching on and off
Before switching the machine on, tighten all clamp-
ing and xing bolts. Handle the machine with both
hands, and put it on the cutting piece so that the
chain is loose and will not stick inside the cut after
activation.
To turn on
Press the unlocking button [1-1] on the top of the
handle and hold it; then press the motor switch
button [1-2].
To turn off
Let up on the motor switch button [1-2]. The un-
locking button [1-1] will return to its initial posi-
