13. BASIC INFORMATION ON OPERATING THE TRANSMITTER

MODEL TYPE CHANNEL SEQUENCE

The mixer functions required for any model vary greatly accor-

ding to the model type. This is the basis for the new operating

philosophy intr

oduced in the FX-40 system.

TEGORY

In the Base Select menu the model types are divided into four

categories: Power models, Helicopters, Gliders and Electric

Gliders.

WING TYPE, TAIL TYPE

Each model aircraft category is sub-divided according to the

number of wing-mounted servos, and the tail type.

CHANNEL SEQUENCE

The transmitter suggests a channel sequence and a set of mixer func-

tions based on the model type you have selected. Of course, you are

not bound to this; the sequence of functions is fr

eely selectable, so you

can still operate existing models with different channel sequences

without having to r

e-connect the servos.

MIXER FUNCTIONS

The larger the number of servos (control surfaces) in the

model, the mor

e mixer functions the softwar

e offers. However,

superfluous mixer functions are suppressed in the on-screen

display to avoid confusion.

TRANSMITTER CONTROL SELECT

The display for selecting transmitter controls for particular functions

always looks the same; this again is to avoid possible confusion. The

available transmitter controls are displayed in graphical form, while the

control you have selected is picked out in colour on the screen. Any

transmitter control can be selected for any function, and multiple

assignments are also possible.

The screen also displays an additional button field which

varies according to the transmitter control you select (stick,

digital trim button, linear slider or digital rotary knob), and the

function for which you have selected that control. This new

button field provides access to a sub-menu where you can

carry out further adjustments to the transmitter control.

(step size).
