ting. The same applies at the opposite extreme: when you

reduce motor torque or the collective pitch setting, the heli-

copter must not rotate around its vertical axis.

The screen shot below shows an example of a programmed

Revolution mixer.

19.9 MIXTURE ADJUSTMENT

This function is used to set up a separate servo for adjusting

the fuel mixture at the carbur

ettor. A particular advantage is

that it is possible to link it to the normal throttle function. If this

option is activated, the needle valve is adjusted automatically

when you open or close the throttle; when set correctly, it

should produce a reliable motor run at all speeds.

In its effect and handling this option is exactly the same as the

mixture adjustment function already described in Section 17.4

on page 63 for fixed-wing models powered by a glow motor.

Please refer back to that point for details of the actual pro-

gramming procedure.

However, for glow-powered helicopters this function is parti-

cularly important, so we will show the essential displays at this

juncture and provide a brief explanation of them, as they relate

to an ‘HR-3 120°’ model helicopter.

The two screen shots below show a typical example of pro-

gramming this function, with suitable values entered and a

mixture curve already set up.
