Prior to initial use

For a start, please clean the appliance as well as all accessories. For more detailed information please refer

to “Cleaning and maintenance”.

• Thetasteofbeveragescontainingcoffeedependsonthequalityoftheusedcoffeeorespressobeans.

Condition for the aromatic preparation of beverages with coffee is the perfect grinding of the roasted

beans as this increases the surface for the contact with water and thus, the release of ﬂavours.

• Aroastedcoffeebeancontainsmorethan1,000differentavouringsubstances.Thenerthegrinding,

the more substances are released.

• Afterafewminutesalready,thegroundpowderloosesmorethe50%ofitsavour.Therefore,coffee

specialistsrecommendstoringwholecoffeebeansandonlygrindingthequantityjustneeded.

• Differentcoffeebeveragesrequiredifferentcoarsenesssettings;butalsothebeans’sortandroasting

as well as your personal taste decide on how ﬁne the coffee powder should be ground. Take our

recommendations (see below) as basis and try yourself until you have found your individual coarseness

setting.

– Coarse powder is suitable for hand-ﬁltered coffee.

– Medium powder is used with usual boiler espresso machines.

– Fine powder is suitable for ﬁlter coffee makers or for automatic pump pressure espresso machines.

– Extra-ﬁne powder is recommended for manual mocha-making.

Operating the appliance

Attention: The appliance is designed for a max. continuous

operating time of 1 minute. If this time has been reached, the

appliance has to cool down for at least 2 minutes. If this is not

observed, the motor might be damaged!

Attention, hazard of injury: Do not touch the 2-winged blade! Handle the

bladewithcaretoavoidinjuries!

Attention, hazard of injury: The appliance has a delayed motor stop after

it has been switched off – therefore, please wait until it has stopped before

taking the coffee powder out of the beans tank.

Filling the beans tank

• Removethecoverofthebeanstankandllinwhole,roasted

beans max. to the top stainless steel edge. The max. ﬁlling

quantity is 40 g.

• Afterwards,replacethecoverofthebeanstank.Indoingso,makesure

that the cover ﬁts correctly.

IMPORTANT: Never grind too hard ingredients, like e. g. nutmeg, or sticky foods, like e. g. cheese or

chocolate!
