Based on the battery law, the manufacturer / distributor takes over the costs for
collection, processing and recycling equipment and batteries.
For this purpose, the battery must be disposed of through the collecting boxes
prescribed by national laws. The battery must not be disposed of together with
household waste; waste must be separated according to the type of battery, as
illustrated by the symbol with the crossed-out waste bin.
When the battery has reached the end of its service life, hand the battery in to your
John Deere or SABO dealer or take it to a public collection point (to the GRS in
Germany, for example, a foundation for taking back batteries), so that the battery
can be disposed of in compliance with waste and dangerous goods regulations.
Regulations and laws concerning the recycling and disposal of lithium-ion batteries
differ from country to country and can even be different from one federal state to
another within Germany. You must find out about national and local legislation and
requirements for disposing of special waste.

NOTE:
Only hand in discharged batteries without voltage to the external contacts. If the
battery is only partly discharged, it must be protected against short-circuits before
being handed in (sturdy cardboard box, ideally the original box, if still available).
Discarded or used batteries must not be burnt, since they may explode. Toxic
fumes and other toxic substances are produced when batteries are burnt.
Only in EU countries:
In compliance with EU Directive 2002/96/EC concerning electric and electronic
waste and its implementation in national legislation, devices supplied by lithium-ions
must be collected separately and given over to an eco-friendly recycling system.
Used batteries must also be recycled in compliance with directive 91/157/EEC.
