Cuts resulting from running over the connecting cable.
Insulation damage resulting from forcefully pulling out
of the wall socket.
Cracks through aging of insulation.
Such defective electrical connection cables must not be used
as the insulation damage makes them extremely hazardous.
Check electrical connection cables regularly for damage.
Make sure the cable is disconnected from the mains when
checking.
Electrical connection cables must comply with the
regulations applicable in your country.
Single-phase motor, page U5
The mains voltage must coincide with the voltage
speci ed on the motor’s rating plate.
Extension cables up to a length of 25 m must have a
cross-section of 1.5 mm
2
, and beyond 25 m at least 2.5
mm
2
.
The connection to the mains must be protected with a
16 A slow-acting fuse.
Three-phase motor, page U5
The mains voltage must coincide with the voltage
speci ed on the motor’s rating plate.
The mains connection and the extension cable must
have 5 conductors: 3 phase conductors + 1 neutral
conductor + 1 earth conductor.
The extension cable must have a minimum cable cross-
section of 1.5 mm
2
.
The connection to the mains must be protected with a
16 A slow-acting fuse.
The rotating direction must be checked when the
machine is connected to the mains or re-sited. If
necessary, the polarity will have to be changed over (wall
socket).
For this, turn the phase invertor in the plug collar with a
screwdriver. (See Fig. 10)
Electrical connection and repair work may be carried
out by a quali ed electrician only.
Please specify the following with all inquiries:
Motormanufacturer
Motor current type
Speci cations on machine nameplate
Speci cations on switch nameplate
When sending in the motor, always include the complete drive
unit with switch.
Starting up
Before starting up, refer to the notes on safety.
Operating the machine is permitted only with the completely
assembled and mounted protection and safety devices.
After connecting to a main power supply, your
scheppach
machine
is ready for operation.
Saw blade – height adjustment
Stepless height adjustment of the saw blade is carried out
with the hand wheel. The saw blade has an adjustment
range of 130 mm.
Cutting height min. 45 mm
max. 175 mm
To work safely and cleanly, set the saw blade with a slight
overhang to the workpiece.
The covering cap must always be set to the workpiece
thickness whenever any work is carried out.
Cutting lengthwise, Fig. 11
Set the ripping fence accordingly for parallel cutting.
For working with smaller pieces (less than 120 mm), use
the pushing pole. Adjust the stop rail with a lower stop
height.
If not used, hang the ripping fence on the right side of the
table.
Cutting crosswise, Fig. 12
Use the cross-cutting guide for cutting cross wise and at
angles.
The design of the cross-cutting guide also allows bevel
cuts.
The setting scale is from 0° to 90°. With the hex bolt, set
the pivoting component at a right angle to the saw blade.
Swing the cross-cutting guide to the side if not used.
Changing the saw blade, Fig. 13
Warning! ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE PLUG
Use only saw blades which are sharp, not deformed, and
free of  ssurres or cracks.
Using saw blades of HS-steel is prohibited.
When loosening and tightening the lock nut (M20 left-
hand), grip with the holding mandril.
After each saw blade change, the splitting wedge must
be readjusted. Refer to section on splitting wedge, Fig.
08.
Maintenance
During any and all maintenance or cleaning work, the
motor must be switched off and the plug disconnected from
the power supply.
After all maintenance and repair work, all safety and
protection devices must be immediately reattached.
The design and construction of the circular saw makes it
almost entirely maintenance-free, inclusing the electric
motor.
This does not include saw blades, which are subject to
normal wear, as well as the bench insert. When required,
replace the bench insert.
The table surface must always be kept free of resins.
Keep the saw blade protective box free of wood chips
and saw residue. Whenever removing any saw dust,
always disconnect the plug from the power supply before
opening the protective box cover.
