proper recycling and waste removal must be

observed.

For setup and service work in particular, as

well as for decommissioning, it must be

ensured that materials harmful to ground-

water - like greases, oils, cleaning fluids

containing solvents, etc. - do not pollute the

ground or enter the sewer system. These

materials must be collected in suitable con-

tainers and disposed of.

Setup

Safety instructions for the setup

In order to prevent machine damage or life-

threatening injuries during the setup of the

machine, the following points must be ob-

served without fail:

• Prior to the beginning of setup work, the

machine must be inspected for transport

damage.

• Make sure that only authorised persons

remain in the work area and that no oth-

er persons are endangered by the setup

work.

• Improperly routed lines (e.g. too-small

bending radius) can cause smouldering

fires and cable fires.

• All machine connections - cables and

hoses - must be routed in such a way

that they do not create tripping hazards.

• Incorrectly positioned or improperly

fastened machines parts can fall down or

topple over.

• Live cable ends and components can lead

to injuries due to electrical current.

• Parts loosely stacked on top of each

other can slip and fall down.

• Spilled lubricant, solvent, preservative,

etc. can cause skin irritation in the event

of direct contact with the skin.

Duties before beginning work

Perform the following tasks prior to com-

mencing work:

• The commissioning of the machine may

only be performed by qualified person-

nel in observance of the safety instruc-

tions.

• Before switching on the machine, make

sure that no persons or foreign objects

are in the danger area.

• Inspect the machine for visible damage

and immediately rectify and discovered

defects or inform the supervisor - the

machine may only be operated in fault-

free condition.

• Prior to start-up, check the electrical and

hydraulic connections, as well as the lub-

ricant supply and the hydraulic oil level.

• Test the safety equipment for functional-

ity. Safety equipment that cannot be

tested prior to the beginning of work

must be inspected on the initial run!

• Remove all objects that are not a compo-

nent of the machine or are necessary for

carrying out work from the plant area.

• With outdoor temperatures below 0°C,

allow the machine for approx. 5 minutes

in idle mode without actuating the con-

trol level in order to allow the hydraulic

system to reach its operating tempera-

ture.

• Check the direction in which the electric

motor runs prior to commissioning. If

the direction of rotation is incorrect, the

pump will be destroyed.

• Check whether the machine is positioned

of solid, level and secure ground in order

to prevent tipping over.

• For power-take-off-operated machines,

it only has to be fastened to the tractor

(at the upper or lower linkage) in order

to ensure stability and the corrected

routing of the joint shaft. For this pur-
