Preparing for use / Cleaning / Disposal / Information

1. Slide open the battery compartment cover

and take it oﬀ the battery compartment

2. Remove the exhausted battery and dispose of

it in accordance with the section on “Disposal”.

Note: When you are inserting the batteries,

make sure that you do not bend the contacts.

3. Insert the new battery into the battery compart-

ment

. Insert the battery so that it lies under

the battery restraint pin

and lightly press

the battery until it engages. Make sure you ﬁt

the battery the right way round (polarity). The

“+” symbol must be visible on the top of the

battery.

4. Close the battery compartment

Note: If the scale does not appear to work,

check that the battery has been inserted cor-

rectly and reinsert it if necessary.

Cleaning

J Do not use chemical cleaners or scouring

agents for cleaning the device.

Never immerse the device in water or other liquids.

Ignoring this advice may damage the device.

J Ensure that no water enters the device. If this

does occur, then wait until the device has dried

out fully before you use it again.

j Clean the device using a slightly moist cloth. For

more stubborn dirt you can also apply a weak

soap solution to the cloth.

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recy-

clable materials, which you may dispose

of at local recycling facilities.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more

details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.

To help protect the environment, please

dispose of the product properly when it

has reached the end of its useful life and

not in the household waste. Information

on collection points and their opening

hours can be obtained from your local

authority.

Faulty or used batteries must be recycled in accord-

ance with Directive 2006 / 66 / EC. Please return

the batteries and / or the device to the available

collection points.

Environmental damage through

incorrect disposal of the

batteries!

Batteries must not be disposed oﬀ with domestic

waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and

are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and

regulations. The chemical symbols of the heavy

metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury,

Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used

batteries at a local collection point.

Information

Warranty / Service centre

We provide a 3-year warranty covering faults in

materials or manufacture of the product from the

purchase date.

The warranty does not cover:

· Damage resulting from improper use.

· Wear parts.

· Defects that were known to the customer at

the time of purchase.

· Damage for which the customer was respon-

sible.

This warranty does not aﬀect the customer‘s legal

rights. The customer must provide proof of pur-

chase in order for any warranty claims within the

warranty period to be honoured. Claims under the

warranty within a period of 3 years from the date of

purchase are honoured by
