WARNING
Familiarize yourself with the most
important stepsbefore starting your
journey. Never try out new functions whilst
driving. This will distract you from the
trafficconditions and you could cause an
accident.
Always operate the radio in such away that
you maintain control of your vehicle in all
trafficconditions.
Bear in mind that at aspeed of just 30 mph
(approximately50km/h), your vehicle is
covering adistance of 44 feet
(approximately14m)every second.
Switchingaudio system navigation/
multimedia on/off
Switching on

Press W the control knob briefly.
After the initial screen, either the last
menu activated or amenu to enterthe
security code appears.

Enter the four-digit security codeand
press OKOK.
Audio system navigation/multimedia is
switched on and displays the menu last
switched on.

The security code is set to "0000" at the
factory. It is recommended that you
change the security code (Y page 27).

You have ten attempts to enter the
correctsecurity code. If you enter an
incorrect security code, the WrongWrong
Code!Code! message appears for two seconds
and gives the number of possible
attempts remaining.

If audio system navigation/multimedia
is switched off by switching the engine
off, it is then switched on again when the
engine is next started.
Switching off

To switch off and go to standby mode:
press and hold W the control knob.
Audio system navigation/multimedia
switches to standby mode after the Good
Good
ByeBye message.
Standby mode is terminated after adefined
time period (standby time). The device is
then switched off. You can set the standby
time (Y page 26).
In standby mode, the device is ready for use
quickly after being switched on again.

If audio system navigation/multimedia
is operated while the engine is switched
off, the device also goes into standby
mode after 30 minutes. Amessage to this
effect will be shown first.

Without switching to standby mode: press
W the control knob for approximately
ten seconds.
In doing so, audio system navigation/
multimedia is reset (e.g. if it is not
working correctly) and can subsequently
be restarted.
