7. The base station is then searched for and an acoustic signal is issued after a

few seconds. The handset is now registered and can be u sed for internal and

external calls.

Note: T he handset is t hen automatically assigned an int ernal

call number. The handset already registered has the

internal call number 1.

The second handset registered is assigned the

internal call number 2.

This internal call number appears in the display to the

left of the name of the handset.

12.1.2 Registering other DECT-GAP telephones on the base station

In order to register a DECT-GAP handset from another manufacturer, f ollow the

instructions in the operating manual provided by the o riginal manufacturer and then press

the Paging button on the base station until two acoustic signals are issued. Use the PIN

code for the registration (default setting: 0000).

12.1.3 Registering a handset on a DECT/GAP base station from

another manufacturer

Proceed as follows to register a SWITEL DECT-GAP handset on a base station from

another manufacturer:

1. Press the Menu button

" and use the ( or ) button to select the

REGISTRATION menu. Confirm b y pressing the " but ton.

2. Select the

3. Follow the instructions in the operating manual from the original manufacturer

to set the base station from the external manufacturer to Registration mode.

4. Enter the PIN code of the base station from the e xternal manufacturer using

the digit keys. Confirm by pressing the

" button.

5. A search is made for the base station of t he external manufacturer .

Note: T he handset is t hen automatically assigned a call number by t he base station

of the e xternal manufacturer . This internal call number appears in the display to

the right of t he name of the telephone.

12.1.4 Deregistering handsets

A handset can only be deregistered by another handset still registered. This means it is not

possible to complete the deregistration using the handset which is to b e der egistered.

1. Press the Menu button

" and use the ( or ) button to select the

REGISTRATION menu. Confirm b y pressing the " but ton.

2. Select the

DEL HS menu and confirm with the " button.

3. Enter the base station PIN code (default setting: 0000).

Note: P ress the

! button to cancel the process.
