! CAUTI ON - SETTIN G UP THE GRIND ER
The grinder must only be used in a place that is protected from dust and
dampnes s, that is well-lighted , out of the reach of children, and away from
gasses or other in ammable o r explosive liquids.
The grinder must be situated near a normal electri cal outlet equipped with
earth ( grounded).* *Avoid using dang erous exten sion cables .
**GROUN DING INSTRU CTIONS.
A. In the event of malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least
resis tance for electr ic curren t to reduce the risk of electri c shock. This tool is equip ped
with an electric cord having an equipment-gr ounding conductor and a grounding
plug. The plug must b e plugged into a matching outle t that is proper ly installed and
grounde d in accord ance with all local c odes and or dinances.
Do not modify the plug provided - if it will not t the outlet, have the proper outlet
install ed by a qua lied elec trician.
Imprope r connectio n of the equipment- grounding conduct or can result in a risk of
electri c shock. The condu ctor with insulation having an outer surfa ce that is green
with or without yellow stripes is the equipment-grounding conductor . If repair or
replace ment of the electric cord or plug is necessar y , do not connect the equipment-
groundi ng conducto r to a liv e terminal.
Che ck with a quali ed elec trici an or servic e perso nnel if the groun ding instr uctio ns are
not completely understood , or if in doubt as to whether the tool is properly grounded.
Use only 3-wire extension cords that have 3-prong grounding plugs and 3-pole
recepta cles that accept the tool’s plug. Repair or replace damaged or worn cord
immedia tely .
B. Grounded, cord-conn ected tools intended for use on a supply circuit having a
nominal rating less than 150V~. This tool is intende d for use on circuit that has an
outle t that looks like the one illust rated in sketch A in gur e. The tools has a groundi ng
plug that looks like the plug illustrated in sketch A in gure. A temporar y adapter ,
which looks like the adapter il lustrated in sk etches B and C, may be used to co nnect
this plug to a 2-pol e rece ptacle as s hown i n sket ch B if a pro perly grounded outlet is
not available. The tempor ary ada pter sh ould be used only until a prope rly grou nded
outlet can be installed by a qualied electrician . The green-colo red rigid ear , lug, and
the like, extending from the adapte r must be connec ted to a permane nt ground such
as a pr operly grou nded outle t box.

9. SAF ETY DEVI CES
The gri nder is equ ipped with the safety devices il lustrated hereafter:
- Shield guards: they protect the operato r from parts of the grinding wheel that may
come aw ay during t he sharpen ing process .
These guards mus t always b e tted in place when the applia nce is in u se.
Alw ays make sure the guard s are efcie nt and tted properl y . Oper ator safet y could
be comp romised if the guards are damage d and/or cr acked.
- Switch: the applian ce featur es a safety switch with release coil. In the case of a
sudden power failure, the switch trips automati cally and disconnects the applia nce
from the mains. The appliance will not start even if the power supply is sudde nly
restore d. Y ou need to reset the switch to start the a ppliance ag ain.
10. INT ENDED USE
This ap pliance is an electri cal grinder for chains used in c hain saws.
- Use the appliance exclusi vely for the types of chains stated in the technica l data
chart.
- Do not use the app liance to cut or gr ind a nything other than the chains envisaged.
- Secure the a ppliance r mly to the bench or w all.
- The applianc e must not be used in corrosive or explosiv e environm ents.
- Any other us e is to be considered improper .
The manufacturer is not liable for damages following improper or incorrect use of
the appliance.
