Remove the right-hand ( 10 ) / left-hand (9) and uppermost (7 ) glass holders, so that the window ( 19 ) can
be removed. NB: the lowest glass holder ( 8 ) need not be removed completely, but slightly loosened so
that the window ( 19 ) is supported during removal.
Carefully take the glass window to a safe place, to prevent it being broken or damaged.
First remove the casing bottom panel ( 18 ) by removing 4 screws. After this, the casing (17) can be taken
out by unscrewing the four M4 cross- head bolts in the outermost corners.
Now take the combustion unit out the box and mount this on the wall. Fix it with the 4 nuts and the cotter
bolts.
Fill the burner evenly with the lava stones supplied. If too many lava stones have been spilled beside the
burner and you wish to remove it, read the section entitled “Removing the burner”.
Warning: before you replace the window, please make sure that a restrictor plate is needed. See page 8.
Replace the glass window ( 19 ) in the reverse order to that used for its removal. Do not forget to re-tighten
the bottom glass holder (8 ).
The location of the gas main and the gas valve can now be determined and be connected to the fire. There
is a 3/8” gas connection located near the gas control, to which you can connect the pipe work. See also
“Connection to the gas supply”.
Installation of the fire can now be completed.
Attention: please check the pressure valves under and on top of the combustion chamber for posi-
tioning and tightness.
Remove the 2 bolts ( 11 ) in the bottom glass holder.
Place the casing ( 17 ) and the casing bottom panel ( 18 ) back on the fire.
The Decorative Window can now be carefully hung on the projections to the left and right (A) of the glass
holder at the top ( 7A ) and be secured by replacing the 2 bolts in the bottom glass holder.
In order to switch the fire on, see section 2 “Operating Instructions” on Page 4.
Removing the burner ( See Page 13 fig. 1 )
It is not absolutely necessary to remove the burner, but it is possible to take it out if you have lost too many lava
stone when filling the burner. In this case, proceed as follows:
First take out the left- hand recirculation plate ( 3 ) by removing the screw on the inside of the fire.
Move the burner slightly to the left first and then tilt it at a slight angle to take it out.
When you are ready to replace the burner, return all the parts in reverse order.
Connection to the gas main
Use a 1/2" gas tap with coupling in the supply pipe. The connection to the fire is fitted with a 3/8’ coupler. Take
care when connecting that the regulating equipment is not twisted and that no superfluous stress is induced. Also
ensure that the gas pipe is free of contaminants and sand. The accessibility of the gas tap must be guaranteed for
this fire. Check the joints for gas tightness after the connection has been made.
4. Concentric duct system
The concentric duct system consists of an inner duct of 100 mm diameter and an outer duct of 150 mm diameter.
These ducts are concentrically arranged. The combustion gases are extracted via the inner duct, while fresh air
for combustion flows in via the space between the inner and outer ducts. The concentric duct system enables
various connections.
Through the roof or through the external wall.
The route for this system can be laid out in various ways, but there are several important conditions.
The total permitted vertical duct length is 12 metres (the sum of the duct length and the calculated lengths
of the bends).
The horizontal duct length for a roof outlet must not exceed 5 metres, measured between bends.
90° bends have a calculated length of 2 metres.
45° bends have a calculated length of 1 metre.
The outlet can be placed at any arbitrary position on the roof surface or external wall (inlet and outlet in
identical pressure areas) but must satisfy current regulations.
In the case of a direct wall outlet, the maximum permitted duct length is the standard wall terminal length.
