Always use the information labels in the tray for guidance on loading orientations and maximum
fill information.
The tray can feed a range of media weights and types.
• Up to 4000 sheets of 75 gsm (20 lb) paper when used in the standard configuration. Up to
2000 sheets of 75 gsm (20 lb) paper when using the optional kits.
• The media weight range is from 60 (16 lb) to 216 gsm (145 lb).
• The following media size can be fed from the tray. From A4 (8.5 x 14”) LEF.
Note: For 80 gsm paper capacities are slightly lower than specified.
It is important to select the correct Type for the media loaded in the tray. The device can detect
different types of media as each page travels through the paper path and will halt a job if a
mismatch occurs.
Only use the types of media specified for use in the tray.
•Plain
•Bond
•Recycled
•Carbonless
•Punched
• Letterhead and Pre-printed
•Pre-cut tabs
•Rough Surface
•Glossy
•Cardstock
• Lightweight Cardstock
This tray must not be used to feed labels, transparencies or envelopes. The Bypass Tray can be used
for these media types. The optional Envelope Tray can be used in place of Tray 2 for envelopes.
1. Press the button to open the door.
2. Wait for the paper tray to lower, opening the door automatically lowers an elevator in the base
of the tray.
3. Place the media in the tray. Media must be positioned against the left side of the tray.
Paper must not be loaded above the maximum fill line.
• Load pre-printed paper face-down and with the top towards the front of the device.
• Load hole punched paper with the holes on the left edge.
4. Close the door.
When the door is closed the elevator rises to feed the media.
