6. GEWA Connect app

With the GEWA Connect application you can control appliances and electronics in your

home via IR and GEWA Radio.

When launching GEWA Connect for the first time it is empty. Go to the App menu , switch

to Edit mode and start building your own pages for environmental control.

On every page the Shortcut menu is shown at the bottom. Here you can keep the functions

that you always want quick access to.

Terminology

Button

A page in the GEWA Connect app consists of several buttons.

The button consists of a command (type), name and/or a symbol.

The button can send a signal for environmental control via IR or

GEWA Radio, go to another page or send an IR Macro.

Page

A page with buttons (and/or subpages).

The page should be set to a layout that fits the purpose and the

device (small or large screen, portrait or landscape) etc. Several

layout types are available.

IR item

A button with a command that controls a specific appliance in a

specific way, e.g. switch the TV on/off via IR (Infra Red light).

When creating a button with an IR command you set the name

and/or the symbol first. The IR signal is recorded afterwards or

selected from existing GEWA link or GEWA 4096 codes. Then you

can also choose if and how the signal should be repeated.

A button without an IR command is marked with a . This means

that the button is not ready for use.

When the IR command is set, the button is marked with .This

means that the button is ready for use.

GEWA Radio

A command that controls a specific appliance in a specific way, e.g.

turn the light on/off/toggle via GR (GEWA Radio).

When creating a button with a GR command you set the name

and/or the symbol first. The GEWA Radio device and function is

selected afterwards.

A button without a GR command is marked with a . This means

that the button is not ready for use.

When the GR command is set, the button is marked with . This

means that the button is ready for use.

Shortcut menu

A menu that is shown at the bottom of every page, for quick access

to selected buttons or pages.

IR recording

An IR signal that is manually recorded from a remote control.

GEWA link

Standard channels that are used in all GEWA remote control units

and receivers. There are 128 GEWA IR channels, numbered from

0-127. These channels do not need to be recorded, they are already

included in GEWA Connect.
