Changing t he language
• The display and t he computer buttons use
wor ds and abbreviations in English. The
display can be switched to German.
• Press the RECO VERY button (1 1e) and the
PROGRAM button (1 1f) simultaneously to
switch between English and German.
Setting t he user pr ofile
Before star ting your work out, up to 4 dif ferent
user profiles can be progr ammed. The pre-set
values in each user profile determine t he data
in the HRC progr amme and in the BMI/BMR
and body fat measurements.
• The user profile U0 is neutral. No user data
are pre-set.
• In the U1 , U2 and U3 user profiles, personal
data such as age, sex, weight and height of
the user are set and permanently stored.
1 . Switch the equipment on as descr ibed in the
section “Turning the item on and of f”.
2. T urn the selection dial to select t he desired
user profile.
3. Press the MODE button (1 1h) to confir m
your selection.
4. Enter t he relev ant values in t he fields “ Age”
(1 1m), “Sex” (1 1m), “ W eight” (1 1m), and
“Height” (1 1m) by turning the selection dial
(1 1g) and confirming the selection with the
MODE button (1 1h).
Selecting a pr ogramme
1 . Press the PROGRAM button (1 1f).
2. Select the desired programme using the
selection dial (1 1g).
3. Press the MODE button (1 1h) to confir m
your selection.
QUICKSTART programme
1 . Select the QUICKST ART progr amme, as
described under “Selecting a programme”,
or press the QUIC KST ART button (1 1i).
Note: The computer will star t automatically
with the QUICKST ART pr ogramme.

3. Star t t he workout.
Note: The resistance level can be altered as
desired during the work out.
W ATT programme
With this programme y ou can complete a
session that is not dependent on rotational
speed. The pre-set resistance lev el (Watts)
remains unchanged and is adjusted to the
current pedalling rate and training speed every
0.5 to 4 seconds.
1 . Select the WA TT CONTROL pr ogramme, as
described under “Selecting a programme”.
2. Enter t he relev ant values in t he fields
“ W att” (1 1r), “Time” (1 1n), “Distance”
(1 1q), “Kilojoule” (1 1s) and “Pulse” (1 1l)
by turning the selection dial (1 1g) and
confirming t he selection wit h the MODE
button (1 1h).
3. Star t moving t he pedals to begin the
work out.
Note: The default value for Watts can be
changed during the workout using the selection
dial in increments of 5.
MANUAL programme
1 . Select the MANUAL progr amme, as
described under “Selecting a programme”.
2. Enter t he relev ant values in t he fields “Time”
(1 1n), “Dis tance” (1 1q), “Kilojoule” (1 1s)
and “Pulse” (1 1l) by turning t he selection
dial (1 1g) and confir ming the selection with
the MODE button (1 1h).

HRC programme
Note: This programme will only work with a
standard chest s trap (not included).
In this progr amme, t he resistance is adjus ted
automatically according to the pre-set target
hear t rate:
• When your current heart rate is below the
target hear t rate you have set, the resistance
will be raised every 1 0 seconds by one
lev el (up to a maximum of 1 6).
• When your current heart rate is above the
target hear t rate you have set, the resistance
will be lowered e ver y 1 0 seconds by one
lev el (up to a minimum of 1).
1 . Select the HRC programme, as described
under “Selecting a progr amme”.
2. T urn the selection dial (1 1g) to select one of
the following target hear t rate profiles:
• HRC 1: 55% of maximum hear t rate
• HRC 2: 7 5% of maximum hear t rate
• HRC 3: 90% of maximum hear t rate
• HRC 4: maximum hear t rate (can be set
freely using the selection dial)
Note: Use the following formula to calculate
the maximum heart rate: 220 – age.

With this programme, an individual work out
can be compiled and stored.
The user’s settings in the personal progr amme
will be stored per manently and do not have to
be re-entered each time.
1 . Select the USER progr amme, as described
under “Selecting a progr amme”, or press
the USER button (1 1j).
2. Press the MODE button (1 1g) to programme
an individual workout.
3. Enter t he relev ant values for t he bars (1 1o)
in the fields “ Time” (1 1n), “Distance”
(1 1q), “Kilojoule” (1 1s) and “Pulse” (1 1l)
by turning the selection dial (1 1g) and
confirming t he selection wit h the MODE
button (1 1h).

Note: If you star t pedalling s traight away ,
the computer will star t up a previously saved

INTERV AL prog ramme
The INTERV AL programme is pre-pr ogrammed.
The high-intensit y and low-intensit y phases
alternate at equal inter vals and wit h equal
lev els of intensit y each time.
Because of t he significant variations in intensit y
we recommend that this progr amme is only
used af ter 2 or 3 weeks of training.
Note: The pre-set resistance level cannot be
altered during the work out.
1 . Select the INTERV AL programme, as
described under “Selecting a programme”.
2. T urn the selection dial (1 1g) to select one of
the following intensit y lev el profiles:
• L1 – prepared beginner
• L2 – advanced
• L3 – fitness athletes and professionals

This programme tak es 1 2 minutes. The aim of
this programme is to deter mine your current
lev el of fitness.
Af ter 1 2 minutes of exer cising, t he computer
will display values for aver age speed, distance
cov ered, total kilojoule burn and aver age heart
rate for the comple ted test work out. The values
are saved.
