INTENDED USE
The thermometer is us ed to display the r oom temperatur e and the outdoor t emperatur e.
The pow er is only to be supplied by a bat tery (type , see “T echnic al Data”). Do not use an y other
power supply .
Any use other than that de scribed above is not permitt ed and can damage the product . In addition,
it can lead t o dangers such as short-circuit , fi re, etc .
Alwa ys observe the saf ety instructions and all other in formation included in these oper ating
instructions.

Please read all o f the operating instructions bef ore using the product for the fi rst
time; they cont ain important information about the corr ect operation. The w arranty
will be void in the ev ent of damage caused by f ailure to observ e these safet y inst-
ructions! W e do not assume any liability f or any resulting damage!
W e shall not accept liability f or damage to property or pers onal injury caused by
incorrect handling or non-complianc e with the safety ins tructions! In such cases,
the warr anty will be null and void.
The “Hand” symbol indicat es special tips and operating not es.
F or safe ty reasons , any unauthorised con version and/ or modifi cation o f the product is not
permitted. Ne ver dismantle the product.
With the ex ception of the out door sensor , the product is intended ex clusively for use in dry
interiors; it mus t not get damp or wet.
The manuf acturer does not acc ept any liability f or incorrect or inac curate r eadings or any
consequenc es resulting fr om such readings.
This product is not a t oy and does not belong in the hands of childr en. Only use the product
out of the re ach of children; the pr oduct contains a batt ery and small parts that could be sw al-
lowed.
Condensation may f orm when the product is brought fr om a cold room int o a warm one . There-
for e, wait until it has r eached room t emperatur e before using it.
Do not leave p ackaging materials lying ar ound careles sly . It may become a danger ous play-
thing for childr en.
Handle the product with c are. It c an be damaged by impact, blow s, or by being dropped, e ven
from a lo w height.
INSTR UCTIONS F OR BA TTERIES AND RE CHARGEABLE
BA TTERIES
Batt eries/ rechar geable batt eries do not belong in the hands of children.
Do not leave b atteries lying ar ound in the open. There is a danger that childr en or pets may
sw allow them. If they ar e sw allowed, consult a doct or immediately .
Leaking or damaged batt eries/ r echargeable bat teries in cont act with the skin can cause acid
burns; theref ore, use suit able safety glo ves.
Batt eries/ rechar geable batt eries must not be short-circuit ed, opened or thrown int o fi re. Th ere
is a risk of e xplosion!
Do not rechar ge normal, non-recharge able batteries; risk o f explosion! Only char ge recharge-
able batt eries that are intended f or this purpose; use a suitable bat tery charger .
Make sur e that the polarity is corr ect when inserting the battery / r echargeable bat tery (pay
attention t o plus/+ and minus/-).
SET -UP
Place the devic e on a level, fl at and stable surf ace.
Lay the cable o f the outdoor sensor outside .
Prot ect valuable furniture surf aces b y using a suitable underlay; otherwise , it may cause
scr atch marks.
The set -up location should not be in the direct vicinit y of any heat sour ces, sinc e otherwise the
measured v alues can be dist orted. F or this re ason, you should also av oid placing it in direct
sunlight.
INSERTING /REPLA CING THE BA TTER Y /RE CHARGEABLE
BA TTER Y
Open the batt ery compartment on the rear of the housing and ins ert a battery of t ype AAA/Micro
with the corr ect polarity . The c orrect polarity is indicat ed in the battery c ompartment.
After ins erting the battery , the de vice operat es again.
Close the bat tery compartment again.
The batt ery must be replaced, if the c ontrast on the displa y fades or the displa y no longer func-
tions.
Rechar geable batterie s can be used. Howe ver , the lower oper ating voltage (r echargeable
batt ery = 1.2 V , batt ery 1.5 V) and lower cap acity will reduc e the operating time.
When you change the bat teries, the s tored maximum and minimum v alues of the ther-
mometer and h ygromet er are delet ed.
OPERA TION
The sensor f or the room temper ature is inside the c asing and thus also shows the mea-
sured v alue in the inner casing. Theref ore , to obtain more ac curat e measured value s, do
not hold the device in y our hand or place it near a heat sour ce.
The measur ement display needs about 15 to 30 minut es to stabilis e and to display an
accur ate value .
In normal mode the display indicat es the current v alues for the indoor and outdoor t empera-
ture simult aneously .
Pres s the MIN/MAX RESET button briefl y multiple times to call up the maximum and minimum
values f or the indoor and outdoor temper ature .
T o er ase the memory and re start the recor ding of maximum and minimum v alues, pres s and
hold the MAX/MIN RESET butt on.
Pres s the °C/°F button t o toggle the display unit of the t emperatur e value.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
The product doe s not require an y maintenance and should ne ver be disassembled for an y reason.
Please use a so ft, dry , clean cloth for cleaning. Do not us e any chemical cleaning agents , as they
can disc olour the plastic casing.
DISPOS AL
a) Product
Electronic de vices are r ecyclable w aste materials and mus t not be disposed of in the
household w aste!
Please dispose o f the device when it is no longer of us e, accor ding to the curr ent statu-
tory r equirements.
Remov e the battery if ther e is one inserted and dispose o f it separat ely from the product .
b ) Batteries and R echargeable Batt eries
As the end user , you are r equired by law (B attery Regulation ) to r eturn used batt eries and
rechar geable batterie s. Do not dispose of used b atteries in the household w aste!
Batt eries/ rechar geable batt eries contain harmful mat erials and are labelled with the
symbol sho wn to indicate that dispo sal in the household wast e is forbidden. The s ymbols
of the rele vant hea vy metals are: Cd=C admium, Hg=Mercury , Pb=Lead ( marked on bat -
teries / recharge able batteries , e.g. under the rubbish bin s ymbol shown to the left).
