If it ever does not work
Unit cannot be switched on
Reinsert the operating panel.
Hold down the
¡
IO
button for at least one
second when switching on.
Is the unit fuse (at the rear, see also Figure 4
at the beginning of this booklet) defective?
Then bring your unit to your authorised dea-
ler.
Security LED does not flash.
Check whether » BLK ON « is selected at the
expert level.
Select the EXPERT control level (see page
13), » BLK ON «.
Please also observe the connection A4 (see
page 17).
Reception is poor
Are you in an area with poor reception condi-
tions (e.g. underground garage, tunnel,
mountain valley)?
Then the reception will improve when the
location changes.
If the reception does not improve, the aerial
itself or the antenna lead could be defective.
Please have it checked by a technician.
For vehicles with electronic aerials
(e.g.: VW, Audi and Seat also retracting rear
aerial) you should use the aerial adapter 1
(order no.: GIK 15-00).
Radio reception is interrupted
repeatedly
You are in a very poorly supplied reception
area. Then it can occur that attempts to chan-
ge between different frequencies can be heard
as disturbing pauses. The AF function can be
switched off in such a case (see page 7).
Not all speakers working
Check whether the FADER or the BALANCE
are incorrectly set. If this does not help, have
the supply leads to the speakers and the
speakers themselves checked by a technician.
If the CD player does not work
If the CD titles are not played flawlessly, check
whether the surfaces of the CD are dirty or
scratched.
Clean the CD with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Do not use cleaning agents!
Check whether the unit is firmly installed in
the dashboard.
Turn down the volume if the temperature in
the unit is greater than 70° (158 °F).
