• Do not move the OUTDOORCHEF electric kettle bar-
becue when grilling or while it is still hot.
Initial operation
• Before connecting the appliance to the power sup-
ply, check that the mains voltage matches the
details on the model nameplate.
• Plug the mains plug into an earthed mains socket
(230 V). IMPORTANT: Do not allow the power cable
to become trapped. Do not allow the cable to hang
down and make sure that no one can trip over it.
• This OUTDOORCHEF electric barbecue is not
intended for commercial use.
Before using the barbecue
• Clean the cooking grid before using the barbecue
for the first time.
• Ensure that the power cable is not connected to the
mains.
• Ensure that the cable does not come into contact
with the hot barbecue or the lid.
• Place the drip pan in the intended position in the
kettle.
• Check the drip pan before every use to ensure that
there are no grease deposits. Remove the grease so
that it will not catch fire or produce flames.
• Fit the aluminium protective foil to the reflector and
insert into the barbecue.
• Replace the protective foil on the reflector if it is
coated with greasy residue.
• Insert the heating element. The «UP» symbol, loca-
ted on the heating element, must be legible. Ensure
that the crossbars of the heating element are locked
into place in the appropriate recesses.
• Insert the cooking grid.
• Place the lid on top.
Operating the Barbecue
• Make sure that the heating element has been correctly
inserted.
• The mains plug must be plugged into an earthed
mains socket.
•WARNING: The appliance must be connected via a
residual current device (RCD) with a maximum
nominal trip rating of 30 mA.
• Turn the main switch to «ON».
• Switch the temperature control to «ON». The green
light for level one starts to flash, indicating that the
heating element is heating up.
• Select the temperature on the temperature control
using the > or < arrow keys, from 1 – 7 as required, and
allow the barbecue to heat up until the green light
stops flashing, thus indicating that the required tem-

minutes to heat up, depending on the level, wind and
weather.

• Never leave the OUTDOORCHEF electric kettle bar-
becue unattended when in use.
• None of the original parts supplied by the manufactu-

• Any modifications made to the barbecue can result in
danger.
• Prior to using the barbecue, be sure to inspect the
cable, plug and heating element control for any signs
of damage or wear.
• When using the barbecue for the first time, you may
notice a slight burning smell. This is due to left-over
lubricant in the heating element being burnt off. This
does not impair the safety of your barbecue in any
way.
• To prevent fires and electric shocks, you should only
have new electric circuits and sockets installed by a
certified electrician.
• Incorrectly earthed sockets can cause an electric
shock.
• The use of an extension cable is not recommended. If
the use of an extension cable cannot be avoided, try
to use the shortest cable possible. Never connect two
or more extension cables together. Keep the con-
nections dry and off the ground. Do not allow the
cable to dangle over corners of the table top, such
that it presents a trip hazard or invites children to pull
on the cable. Only use extension cables that are
approved for outdoor use.
• Clean the grill and the barbecue kettle after every use.
• Place your electric kettle barbecue on a level, stable
surface, in such a way that it cannot fall over. IMPOR-

• Check the drip pan before every use to ensure that
there are no grease deposits. Remove the grease so
that it will not catch fire and produce flames.

the plug, cable, heating element or temperature con-
trol in water or other liquids.
• The entire barbecue kettle becomes very hot when in
