Perform the functional check on pages 18 – 20 before every ride!
Observe the chapter “Intended use of your SCOTT bike”, the SCOTT service plan,
the SCOTT bike card and the SCOT T protocol for handing over!
Your bike and the translation of these original operating instructions
comply with the requirements of the EN ISO standards

This manual contains important safety, performa nce and service information. Read
it before you take the first ride on your new bicycle, and keep it for reference.
Additional safety, performance and service informatio n for specific components
such as suspension or pedals on your bicycle, or for accessories such as helmets
or lights that you purchase, may also be available. Make sure that your dealer has
given you all the manufacturers’ literature that was included with your bicycle
or accessories. In case of a conflict between the instructions in this manual and
information provided by a component manufacturer, always follow the component
manufacturer’s instructions.
If you have any questions or do not understand something, take responsibility for
your safety and consult with your dealer or the bicycle’s manufacturer.
NOTE: This manual is not intende d as a comprehensive use, ser vice, repair or
maintenance manu al. Please see your dealer for all service, repairs or main-

on bicycle use, service, repair or maint enance.

The country-specific legal regulations for riding your SCOTT speed pedelec
on the issues driving licence, vehicle type approval, obligation to wear a
helmet, insurance as well as detailed information on the range of use of your
SCOTT speed pedelec are given in the “Overview speed pedelecs – legal
regulations” in the present translation of the original SCOTT operating in-
structions.
SCOTT speed pedelecs (a) are considered motor vehicles (b) and therefore
subject to strict regulations relating to the replacement of components and
modifications. Also read the chapter “Useful facts for riding a SCOTT speed
pedelec” and the information given in the “Overview speed pedelecs – legal
regulations”.
WARNING
Do not modify or manipulate (“tune”) your SCOTT speed pedelec. Do not
perform any changes in order to modify the power or to increase the maximum
speed assisted! Risk of accident! Modifications and manipulations will render the
warranty as well as the coverage of the motor vehicle insurance void. Your SCOTT
speed pedelec is then no longer approved for use on public roads.
WARNING
Your SCOTT speed pedelec is not approved for mounting child seats (c), child
trailers and transport trailers.
SAFETY INSTRUCTION
You find more information on the intended use of your SCOTT speed pedelec
in the “Overview speed pedelecs – legal regulations” and in the chapter “Tests
before your first ride”.

Be sure to also read the original SCOTT operating instructions trekking and trek-
king pedelec (d) and the system instructions of the drive manufacturer BOSCH
(e) that you can find via your Quick Start Manual on the SCOTT web page.

The regulations and rules for speed pedelecs with regard to fitting (f) and permit-
ted range of use of this motor vehicle are being revised constantly and changing
at a highly rapid pace. Read the daily press to stay informed about current legisla-
tive changes.
