Once you have the access point name and password:
1. Access Point Name to enter into the sub-menu.
2. Press the Options button and select New APN.
3. Edit the fields with the information provided from your network operator.
7.2. Wi-Fi Networks
Wi-Fi provides wireless internet access over distances of up to 100 meters. To use Wi-Fi
on your phone, you need access to a Wireless Access Point.
Turn on WI-FI and connecting to a Wi-Fi network
Touch All Apps icon> Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi to set up and manage
your wireless access points.
Select the Wi-Fi check box to turn Wi-Fi ON. The phone will scan for available wireless
networks. The network names and security settings of detected Wi-Fi networks are
displayed in the Wi-Fi networks section. Touch a Wi-Fi network to connect.
If you have selected an Open (unsecured) Network, you are automatically connected to
the Network. If you have selected a Secured Network, enter the Password and touch
Done to make the connection.
When your phone is connected to a wireless network, the Wi-Fi icon appears in the
Notification Bar and indicates the approximate signal strength (number of bands that
light up). If the Network notification in the Wi-Fi settings is enabled, this icon appears in
the Notification Bar whenever the phone detects an available wireless network within
range.
Next time you use your phone to detect Wi-Fi Networks, you will not be prompted to
enter the Network Key of the previously accessed Wi-Fi Network (unless you perform a
"Hard Reset" which will erase any custom settings on your phone).
7.3. Portable Wi-Fi hotspot
1. Touch All Apps icon> Settings > Wireless & networks > More > Tethering &
portable hotspot.
2. Select Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
After a moment, the phone starts broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name (SSID), so you
can connect to it with up to 8 computers or other devices.
To stop sharing your data connection, uncheck Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
You can change the name of your phones Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and secure its
Wi-Fi network while it's acting as a portable hotspot.
