- Loosen the kn ob M20.
- Turn t he vise clockw ise.
- Position the vise re ference by the requir ed angl e.
- Tighte n the k nob aga in M20.
- Loosen the knob at the ba ck M23 and tur n the arm to the ri ght.

- Tighte n the k nob aga in M23.
- Move the righ t cutte r up ag ainst t he chai n block ing uni t A29.
- Turn the knob P29 to position the blocking unit A29 correctly compar ed to the
cutter .
- M o ve t h e g r i n d i n g w h e e l o n t o th e r i g h t h a n d c u t t e r, b y p u l l i n g t h e a r m
downwar ds.
- Turn the knob P30 to move the chain so that the cutting part of the cutter skims the
grindin g wheel . The chain should run smooth ly over the vise throug hout
this pr ocedure but wi thout a ny clea rance.
- Loosen the knob M2 0.
- Turn t he vise anti-c lockwis e.
- Position the vise re ference by the requir ed angl e.
- Tighte n the k nob aga in M20.
- Move the le ft cutt er up against the ch ain blo cking u nit A29 .
- Move the grindi ng wheel onto the left cutter, by pulling the arm downwards . The
grindin g wheel must s kim the left c utter by the same am ount as the ri ght cut ter.
- If the differenc e is considerable, it means that the chain is not centred exactly
and you need to progressi vely and slightly turn the screw until you nd the
correct positi on.
- Turn the vise onto the right cutter and check if it is centr ed again by lowering the
arm.
- The vise adjus tment phase is com plete once both cutters (right and left) are
perfect ly cent red wit h the v ise rot ation point.
It is obligato ry to sharpen a chai n wit h th e ga uge of the drive link ide ntical to the
sample chain u sed in the pre vious v ise ad justmen t phase .
- Once you have establ ished the type of c hain to b e sha rpened, look -up the a djust-
ment an gles (v ise and arm) i n the c hain c hart (c olumns A/C).
RH CUTTER
- Loosen the kn ob M20.

- Tighte n knob M20 aga in.
LH CUTTER
- Loosen the kn ob M20.
- Turn t he vise counte r clock wise.
- P osition t he r eference mark on t he vise b y the desi red
angle.
- Tighte n knob M20 aga in.
- Loosen the kn ob at t he back M23 an d turn the arm toward s the
right. Positio n the refe rence m ark by the an gle des ired.
- Tighte n knob M23 aga in.
- Put the chain to be sharpen ed in t he vise .
- T ake th e cutte r up a gainst the cha in bloc king de vice A29.
- Turn the knob P29 to position the blocking unit A29 correctly compar ed to the
cutter .
- M ove the g rinding w heel ont o the cutt er to be s harpene d by pulli ng the ar m
downwar ds.
- Turn the knob P30 to move the chain so that th e cutt er cut ting edge skims the
grindin g wheel . The chain should run freely over the vise throug hout this
procedu re but without any cl earance .
- At this stage, raise the arm and scr ew the knob P30, to move the cutter to be
sharpen ed furt her for wards.
Blunter the cutte rs, greater must be this forward movement. Vice versa, for cutters
that ar e not t oo blun t, simp ly grin d just a slig ht amou nt of m aterial .
- Turn knob P31 to adjust the cutter sharpening depth. The grinding wheel should
skim th e botto m of th e cutte r gulle t .
- Once you hav e found the exact position of the cutter , tighten the chain blocking
handle M32 .
- W ea r pe rson al pr ot ecti on e quip men t wh en sha rpe ni ng .
- All adjust ment s must be made with the motor switche d of f and the grinding
wheel c omplete ly stop ped.
- In t he case of acciden tal impact or collision of the wheel during the sharp-
ening process, follow the instructions gi ven in the “G RINDING WHEEL
W ARNING S” sec tion.
- Clean the cha in befo re shar pening it.
- T o avoid overloa ding the motor ex cessive ly and to avoid dam aging th e chain c ut-
ters, grind minimum quantitie s of materia l and do not stop along the same cutte r
as this could burn th e cutti ng edge .
- Do not use li quid co olants when sh arpenin g.

blocked .
- Turn the mac hine on using switch I33 and shar pen the cutter b y lowerin g the arm-
motor u nit .
- Once you have sharpe ned the chain, raise the arm and lo osen t he hand le M32.
- Run the chain forwar d to po sition the nex t cutte r to be sharp ened.
- Block again with the ha ndle M32 an d shar pen.
- Fit the 1/4” (6 m m) t hick grindi ng w heel , fol lowing the instru ctions given in
points 13-1 7-1 8-19 .
- Turn t he vise so tha t the “ 0” ref erence mark is on pos ition 0 .
- Turn t he arm to take the “0 ” refe rence m ark to 10°/15° .
- P osi ti on t he dres sin g b ric k o n th e j aws an d ag ai nst the ch ain bl ock ing uni t
.
Hold the dressing brick rmly with one hand (being careful not to touch the
grinding wheel).
- Prole the grinding whe el by activat ing the machi ne and grind the gri nding whee l
until y ou obta in a pr ole li ke the one il lustrat ed in .
- Switch the ma chine o ff once yo u have nished .
- Remove the dr essing brick a nd put the cha in in t he vise .
- Center the cutter compared to the grinding wheel by turning the knobs (P29 and
P30).
- Keeping the arm tilted , adjust the grinding depth on the gauge by turnin g knob P31
.
- Sharpen the gauge following the instru ctions given in the “SHARP ENING” section.
For this type of sharpening procedure, there is no differ ence between the right and
left cu tters, therefo re shar pen all the g auges o ne afte r the o ther .
- Check if the depth gauge is correct, using the template with the shape related to
the typ e of ch ain use d . Ple ase al so cons ult the chain table, column F .
T urn the machine off by turning the switch to position “0” and unplug the power cable
from th e mains .
Once yo u have nished using the mac hine, disconn ect it and cle an it t horough ly .
Store i t in a dry and safe p lace, p rotect ed agai nst dus t and d amp.
Follow the instru ctions given in the “ST OPPIN G” section before you start to
work on the ma chine.
