! CAUTI ON - SE TTING U P THE GRINDER
The grin der must only be used in a place that is protect ed from dust and
dampnes s, that is well-lig hted, out of the reach of children, and away from
gasses or othe r inam mable o r explo sive l iquids.
The grinder must be situated near a no rmal electrica l outlet equipped with
earth ( grounde d).**A void using da ngerous extens ion ca bles.
. In the event of malfunctio n or breakdown, grou nding provi des a path of least
resis tanc e for elect ric curren t to reduce the risk of electri c shock. This tool is equip ped
with an electri c cord having an equipm ent-gro unding cond uctor and a groundi ng
plug. The plug must be plu gged into a matchin g outlet th at is prop erly inst alled and
grounde d in ac cordanc e with all loc al cod es and ordinan ces.
Do not modify the plu g provided - if it will not t the outlet, have the pr oper outlet
install ed by a quali ed elec trician .
Imprope r connection of the equ ipment- groundi ng conductor can result in a risk of
electri c shock. The conducto r with insulation having an outer surface that is green
with or without yellow stripes is the equipment-grounding conductor . If repair or
replace ment of the electric cord or plu g is nec essary , do not c onnect the equipment-
groundi ng cond uctor t o a liv e termi nal.
Check with a qualied electricia n or servi ce personnel if the grounding instruct ions
are not completely u nderstood, or if in doubt as to whether the tool is prope rly
grounde d.
Use only 3-wire extension cords that have 3-prong grounding plugs and 3-pole
recepta cles that accept the tool’ s plug. Rep air or repl ace damage d or worn cor d
immedia tely .
. Grou nded, cord-connecte d tools intend ed for use on a sup ply cir cuit having a
nominal ratin g less than 150V~. This tool is intended for use on circuit that has an
outle t that looks like the one illustra ted in sketch A in gure. The tools has a groundi ng
plug that looks like the plug illu strated in sketch A in gure. A tempo rary adapter ,
which looks like the adapter illustrate d in ske tches B and C, may be u sed to c onnect
this plug to a 2-po le recept acle as shown i n sketch B if a prope rly grounded outlet is
not availa ble. The tem porary adapter should be used only unti l a pro perly grounded
outlet can be installed by a quali ed electrici an. The green-c olored rigid ear , lug, and
the like, extending from the adapter must be c onnecte d to a permanent ground such
as a pr operly grounde d outle t box.
