9. CONVECTION BOX
INSTALLATION
9.1 If installing to masonry fireplace
9.1.1 Place the convection box centrally in the fireplace
opening in the position in which it is to be
permanently installed.
Insert the convection box into
the fireplace opening feeding the supply pipe
through aperture at back of the convection box.
9.1.2 Mark the fireplace surround through the four fixing
holes in the side flanges of the convection box (see
figure 13).
9.1.3 Remove the convection box. Drill four holes in the
fireplace surround at the marked positions using a
no.12 masonry drill.
9.1.4 Insert a wall plug into each hole.
9.2 Secure the collar on the vent connector unit to the
5" diameter chimney liner (Fig. 14).
9.3 Slide the convection box into the fireplace making
sure that the vent connection unit is above the
convection box. Leave the convection box front a
few inches clear of the fireplace front to allow you to
fix the vent connector to the top of the convection
box.
9.4 Pull the vent connector towards the front of the
fireplace and locate the rear slot in the plate on the
lip at top rear of the convection box. Fix the front of
the vent connector plate to the convection box top
using the screw previously removed (Fig.14). Make
sure that the connector plate does not interfere with
the seal at back of the convection box top flange.
9.5 Push the convection box fully home against the
front face of the fireplace. Make sure that no sags or
dips occur in the liner.
9.6 If installing to zero clearance kit #775ZCK; Fit a
thread cutting screw through the four holes in the
convection box side flanges and tighten to seal the
box to the kit (see figure 13).
9.7 If installing to masonry fireplace; Fit a woodscrew
through each hole in the convection box flanges and
tighten to seal the box to the fireplace surround (see
figure 13).
